The Taurus Stag Beetle

Dorcus taurus, a Stag Beetle--in the family Lucanidae, found only in Indonesia--was first described by Danish zoologist, Johan Christian Fabricius in 1801.  Fabricius specialized in "Insecta, which back then included all insects, arachnids, crustaceans, etcetera!

The male Taurus Stag Beetle is a little over 2 inches long while the female can run about 1.7 inches.

The Taurus astrological sign applies to humans born between April 20 and May 20.  Taurus individuals maintain strong opinions, which explains their tendency toward stubbornness.  They are also reliable, devoted, and patient.

Do do you think this cool Taurus Stag Beetle resembles Taurus-The Bull?
